About The Warranty Record
An independent, US- and Canada-focused review of home warranty, vehicle service contract, and other warranty providers against a published standard tied to real regulation — not to customer-satisfaction surveys or a paid-placement ranking.
What this site is
The Warranty Record checks real home warranty and vehicle service contract providers against a published standard built on specific, checkable facts — state and provincial licensing, contract-disclosure requirements, and public complaint and enforcement records. We're not a "best of" ranking site, and we don't sell a "verified provider" badge. Our aggregate findings live in the Register, and our plain-English explainers live in the Library.
What this site isn't
We don't take payment to influence a finding, and we don't run a numbered "#1 Best" list or a paid badge program — see our editorial policy for exactly how we're funded (currently: we aren't, and there's nothing to disclose yet) and what we'd disclose if that changes. We're also not a law firm, an insurance agent, or a substitute for reading your own contract — see our terms.
Where we are right now
This site just launched. The standard is published and the vetting process is starting — see the current totals on the Register itself (honestly zero so far), or Updates for a dated record of everything that ships from here.
Scope
This site covers United States and Canadian providers and law. Phase 0 (this launch) covers home warranty and vehicle service contracts; appliance warranty, extended electronics warranty, and travel protection are explicitly scoped for later, not built yet — see the relevant Library pages as each ships rather than assuming coverage exists by omission.
Contact
Found an error, have a provider you think we should check, or a question about how a finding was reached? Email us at hello@thewarrantyrecord.org. We read everything; we don't promise a reply on any particular timeline while this site is this new.
